Spring is now officially here! We are starting to have warmer weather and the yellow pollen has made it’s appearance. Things are getting back to normal around my house after the last few weeks of travels and trials. I have enjoyed being home, and I have been in the mood for some Spring decorating. I couldn’t be happier to put away all things winter.
Today I thought I would share some Spring decorating ideas to help inspire you if you are wanting to change things up a bit. I recently redecorated my mantle in the family room. For some reason, this little space always gives me trouble. I bought a few new accessories at Hobby Lobby and this time it came together a little easier than usual. The rest of the decor is a little of this and a little of that in different rooms of my house.
I will start with my mantle. Hobby Lobby was having 50% off on their floral and wall art. This simple floral picture caught my eye and it made a nice focal point. The price was great…after the discount it was $20.
The white boxes were 40% as is all of the “Spring” decor at Hobby Lobby. I thought they would look nice on either end of the mantle. These were almost too big, but I made them work. One reason my mantle gives me fits is because it is so narrow. I would like to put a mantle board on top of the current board to widen it. A while back I was shopping at a local home decor shop called Twigs, and the lady that works there told me about mantle boards. I guess I just need to add that project to the list!
I love birds, so I always have some displayed somewhere. I have tried to restrain from buying anymore bird themed decor since I have so much.
These are just some pictures I took for Instagram and Pinterest.
I love to use colorful glass bottles in all different sizes. I have two windows behind my kitchen sink, so this was an ideal spot for this display. It makes me happy to look at them, even when I am washing dishes!
This is a display that sits on top of a cabinet in our morning room, which is right off the kitchen. These accessories came from Jo-Anne’s and I believe their spring decor is either 40% or 50% off. Yes, I slid in some more birds, but I couldn’t help myself.
This table sits next to the mantle in the family room. The lighting is never good in this room for pictures, even though there is a wall of windows. I lightened these pictures as much as I could, so the quality is not great. The floral stems are a new purchase from Hobby Lobby and everything else here is old. I don’t do a lot of Easter Bunnies and that type of thing, but this little bunny usually makes an appearance every year.
This doesn’t really qualify as decor, but I thought I would share these little treasures that I found at T.J. Maxx. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already saw these. These little devotional books are so pretty. The spring scented candles were less than $5/each.
The last thing I have for you today are these indications that Spring is here! These are all currently blooming in my yard and I just had to share God’s beautiful creation. Every year I am amazed at how the trees know just when to bloom and come to life. How do they know? Only a Divine Creator could have orchestrated such beauty and perfect timing!
Thanks for spending a few minutes here at My Southern Charm Style. I hope you have been inspired to do some Spring decorating of your own!
